I look forward to each day as my Kindergarteners grow, create, and imagine. Our classroom is a place where we learn together and from each other. This blog will follow us and our learning adventures this year!

Chugging along...

As we continue with our unit, we learned more about trains! They worked really hard on a project, Trains Go! It was an art project that integrated sight word practice, tracking, and prepositions. Have your child read it with you!

Trains can go through the country....

around the mountains, over the bridge and into the city!

We also had fun with some Dr. Suess activities! After reading Green Eggs and Ham, the students wrote what they like to eat and made up a friends’ name that rhymes with it!
Noah wrote: I like to eat green eggs and ice cream.
I like to eat them with my friend Wsecream!
To go along with a familiar favorite, 1 Fish, 2 Fish Red Fish, Blue Fish,
the students made their own addition story and number sentence! Jaxson wrote: 2 fish, 2 fish, red fish, yellow fish!

Thank you to our community helpers, Mrs. Elaine and Dr. Michelle! Mrs. Elaine came in and shared about her job as an occupational therapist and Dr. Michelle came to talk about her experiences as a life long learner and professor. The kids loved hearing about how they help in our community. Thank you!

Mrs. Weisberg shared some ways she helps her students with fine motor skills!
Abbey is popping the air pockets to strengthen the muscles in her hands!

We had a special visit from the California Highway Patrol!
He shared great safety tips and answered a lot of great questions!
